Siberian Larch

SIBERIAN LARCH – is a very strong and robust wood with medium resistance to biodegradation and resistance to fungal attack, making it a great alternative for exterior facade applications. Siberian Larch has a very attractive yellow-orange-red colour scheme that is eye-catching as a decorative element of buildings.

• Siberian Larch has a high resistance to mechanical damage due to its high density for a coniferous wood (500-650 kg/m³). Wooden facade made of Larch has high resistance to external factors and can, like Cedar, remain untreated
  • As a timber, Larch has a higher shrinkage factor and shows little movement, i.e. risk of deformation, during installation. The use of Larch as a softwood, with knots being a natural characteristic, is subject to the risk of cracks in the wood structure. Therefore, it is to be expected that even prefabricated profiled boards stored and pre-packed as recommended may be cracked or slightly deformed before installation. Professional installation allows such imperfections to be freely applied without affecting the mechanical properties of the entire exterior facade panel
  •  The resistance of Larch as a wood is high despite the fact that its properties are described as resistance class 3 – i.e. moderately resistant, and we can in good conscience recommend this wood for use in external architectural elements
  •  as with all wood, in order to avoid corrosion, metal fasteners should be used only in aluminium, stainless steel or deep galvanised
