Edged lumber ensures that waste is minimised as a result of pre-treatment and the cutting out of edging and face cracks. Unedged lumber requires more work for further working, but has other advantages. It is sawn and log stacked, which means that you are guaranteed to get a larger batch of material with the same colour, which is extremely valuable for a certain specific production.
